In-class NONFICTION activity: work with your group to analyse the essay provided. Discuss and answer the questions as a group. Each person must record and keep their own set of notes. Together, plan a presentation of your answers, using the chart paper for notes and as a visual aid for the class.

PERIOD 4 STUDENTS: YOU WILL WORK FIRST ON "What is Poverty?" today, in pairs. The questions and grid are for homework this week and should be finished to take up on Friday. TUESDAY, begin group work activity, presenting answers on chart paper on Thursday.

PERIOD 3 STUDENTS: YOU WILL WORK FIRST on the group essays for MON and TUE., and present answers on chart paper on WED. On THURS and FRI. we will work in pairs and as a class on "What is Poverty?" The questions and grid for "What is Poverty?" should be finished by FRIDAY.
